In Greek mythology The oak is considered  sacred to Zeus, King of the Gods and in early Europe, tribes worshipped the oak and connected it with a thunder or lightening God. Every 4 – 10 years certain oak populations will synchronise to produce almost no acorns at all, only to rain them down excessively the following year, known as a mast year. Only one in every 10,000 acorns results in an eventual tree.

This clock is finished in clear gloss resin, meaning you never have to wax or oil it, and is fitted with a battery operated quartz (almost silent) sweeping movement. All of our movements are guaranteed for 12 months from date of purchase.
